All distances start and finish in Butte Meadows, Ca.

From Chico, take HWY 32 (towards Forest Ranch/Butte Meadows). When you take the right on to Humboldt Ave to Butte Meadows set your odometer to zero and clock 4.3 miles. That will put you at, or very close to, the start line, on the left.

From Susanville/Chester areas, from HWY 32, when you turn left on to Humboldt Rd to Butte Meadows set your odometer to zero and clock 4.3 miles. That will put you at, or very close to, the start line, on the left.

If you get confused, look for lots of other vehicles parked alongside the road, you are in the right spot. If you get really confused and you hit the Bambi Inn, make a u-turn and drive 1 mile back the way you came, towards HWY 32, on Humboldt. Now the start/finish line will be on your right.

For those coming from Chico, you will loose cell service shortly after hitting HWY 32. Put your directions in to your GPS before leaving!!! For those coming from Susanville/Chester area, you will loose cell service shortly after leaving Chester. Input your directions before leaving home or else you might not make it.

Since the pandemic, the Loco races have looked quite different than our past races and our future races will likely continue some of these trends. The course is being permitted differently, therefore our course area is different in some areas.

For those who have Run Loco with us in the past, you may not bat an eye at these changes. For those of you who are new to this game, welcome to Running Loco - the game where things change at the last minute (usually due to weather but lately we have been gifted extra special treats with extra obstacles). We like to think the adversity that is thrown at all of us every year makes us a little bit stronger and a lotta bit more Loco!

Also please note, as always, all mileage is approximate. For the love of Loco, if you are upset that the mileage is not dead on, make peace with the fact that it won't be before race morning. Everyone's watches read a bit (a lot) differently out in them thar' woods. If you get to the finish line and are short a few feet, we aren't going to judge you for running past us to get that tenth of a mile in. If you are over, you're welcome.

DO NOT COUNT ON CELL PHONE RECEPTION AT THIS RACE. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT GET ANY SERVICE AT THE START/FINISH LINE OR ON THE COURSE.

PARKING: Along Humboldt Rd, as far off the road as possible, leaving as much room for the next runner as you can. Do not park in the road at all. Please be sure not to park in front of any yellow gates or driveways.

Post Race Meal: All runners & volunteers are invited to indulge in a delicious, complimentary post race meal. Friends and family members are welcome to purchase a meal for $7, either at the meal line (while food lasts) or in advance (suggested) during the registration process. Vegan and gluten free options available.

PLEASE NOTE

NO REFUNDS - CONSIDER YOUR UNUSED REGISTRATION A GENEROUS DONATION TO THE LOCO YOUTH VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIP.

UP UNTIL 30 DAYS PRIOR TO RACE DAY YOU CAN ROLL YOUR REGISTRATION OVER TO ONE OF OUR OTHER LOCO RACES IN THE LOCO RACE SERIES. LESS THAN 30 DAYS UNTIL RACE DAY, THIS OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE.

TRANSFERS ARE OK, UNTIL RACE DAY (30 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR RACE'S START TIME).
